Autumn Leaves Free Lightroom Preset Tutorial

July 31, 2020 Comment : 1

I’m obsessed with Lightroom presets! Not only do I love trying out different ones, but I LOVE designing my own. And that’s exactly what I’ve done! This is my Autumn Leaves Lightroom preset, and in this post you’re going to learn exactly how to make it for free! (Well, almost free. You will need to have Adobe Lightroom App, which I believe is around $3 on the App Store.)

Once you open the app, select any photo to edit. At the end of the post, I’ll lead you to a post to teach you how to turn your edits into an actual preset that you can reuse whenever you like! Enjoy this preset!

Here’s how to make the preset:

Autumn Leaves Free Lightroom Preset Tutorial

This is the photo that I’m going to be editing to show you a before and after of the Autumn Leaves preset. I took a screenshot of my WHOLE screen to show you what the top and bottom of your screen should look like. You should have all of these options as well (if you’re on the image you’re ready to edit).

The Edits

The following edits are to be made under the ‘light’ tab at the bottom.

  • Exposure: +0.27
  • Contrast: -19
  • Highlights: +22
  • Shadows: +21
  • Whites: +19
  • Blacks: -28

This is what my photo looks like after these edits (this is just for reference, your photo will be different but the lighting should be sort of similar):

The following edits are to be made under the ‘color’ tab at the bottom.

  • Temp: +3
  • Tint: +1

These are the only two edits.

The next edits are going to target specific colors in your photo. This is very important in order to get cohesive colors on photos that use this preset.

In order to edit the colors, click on the color wheel next to the word ‘mix’ as you can see in this photo. (You should still be in the ‘color’ tab.)

Here are the following edits for each color:

Red:

  • Hue: +100
  • Saturation: 0
  • Luminance: 0

Orange:

  • Hue: 0
  • Saturation: +45
  • Luminance: -15

Yellow:

  • Hue: -76
  • Saturation: 0
  • Luminance: 0

Newsletter

Green:

  • Hue: -100
  • Saturation: -22
  • Luminance: +7

Aqua:

  • Hue: +50
  • Saturation: +25
  • Luminance: +50

Blue:

  • Hue: -25
  • Saturation: -69
  • Luminance: +40

Purple:

  • Hue: -75
  • Saturation: 0
  • Luminance: 0

Pink:

  • Hue: +75
  • Saturation: 0
  • Luminance: 0

And that’s it!

These are all the edits that make up my preset Autumn Leaves.

Here’s what my final photo looks like:
